Tea Tree

Below is a branch of a tea tree.

She set it to draw an imitative painting, though I have no idea what made her choose that particular tree as subject instead of other flowers or plants which look more brilliant and flamboyant.

I assume she wished to embody or exemplify the concept of "Wabi & Sabi", or an aesthetic sense in Japanese art emphasising quiet simplicity and subdued refinement.

My mom is certainly endowed with a talent of drawing.

I wonder why I am not.
