本格的に暖かくなってきたので、塾の魚たちのお引越しをしました。
It getting warmer, I moved some of my fishes to the outdoor.
塾には9種類の魚介類がいます。
At this moment, there are 9 aquatic lives in my school which are;
メダカ Japanese Killifish
ミナミヌマエビ Southern King Shrimp
ヒメタニシ River Snail
イシマキガイClithon
グッピー Guppy
コリドラス Armored Catfish
オトシンクルス Dwarf Sucker
ネオンテトラ Neon Tetra
カージナルテトラ Cardinal Tetra
彼ら以外にウーパールーパー（通称「塾長」）が一匹います。
On top of them, there is a mexican salamander (named "headmaster") .
こいつの紹介はまた今度。
He will be introduced some other time.
メダカとグッピーは屋外の水槽に移しました。
I put killifishes and guppies outside.
メダカもグッピーも基本的に陽光を好みますし、繁殖率も上がります。
Both killifishes and guppies tend to like sunlight and can reproduce more in outdoor condition.
また、太陽光にあてた方が水質も確実に安定します。
Another thing is that being exposed to sunlight stabilises the water quality of fish tanks.
こちらはメイン水槽で、コリドラス、オトシンクルス、テトラ類がいます。
Below is the main tank in which I put catfish, dwarf sucker and tetras.
水槽掃除用にミナミヌマエビとヒメタニシも何匹か入れています。
Some of shrimps and snails are also in there as they may work as "tank cleaners".
底材は赤玉土です。
What I usually use for the bottom layer is red loam soil.
色々試しましたが、長期的にみて最も水質が安定するのが赤玉土ですので、私はこれを使っています。
After trying some other ones, I found red loam the best as it stabilise water quality most in a long run.
赤玉土なら熱帯魚用のソイルと比べて、お財布にもやさしいですし、古くなったら庭の植木にも使えるので一石二鳥なんです。
What is more, red loam is cheaper compared with other aquarium soils and also can be recycled as a soil for the plants at my house's at a later date, "killing two birds with one stone".
きゅうりは草食性のオトシンクルス用です。
The cucumber is meant for herbivorous dwarf suckers.
あと左に置いてあるカゴは、コリドラスへの餌やり用で、中に大磯砂を敷いてあります。
The metal basket at the left side of the tank is used when feeding to catfishes, filled with shell sand.
コリドラスは地面に鼻を突っ込んで餌を探す習性がありますので、赤玉土上に餌を直接置くと、土に深く潜り込みすぎて頓死する可能性があるのです。
Catfishes have habit of searching for foods by poking their noses into the soil and that sometimes make them trapped themselves in the soil if I put foods directly on the loam.
あとはミナミヌマエビ繁殖用水槽です。
Another one is a tank solely for shrimps to reproduce.
ミナミヌマエビは他の魚と混泳させても繁殖することはするのですが、稚エビの多くが成長する前に魚たちに食べられてしまうので、個体数を維持する為にも専用の水槽を作っています。
Shrimps may multiply even swum with other fishes, but most of larvae are eaten up by predators before grown bigger. And that is why I set up this specific tank for shrimps to sustain their population.
これからどんどん気温が上がるので、人間同様魚も熱中症に気を付けないといけませんね。
It getting hotter toward summer, both human and fish need to be cautious not to get heat stroke, don't we?
