英検準一級（トピック一覧）
今回、訳あって従来型の英検準一級を受けました。
自由英作文についてです。
過去6回はいずれも「〜すべきか（Should）」という価値観や是非を問う形でした。
ところが今回に限っては
「〜は影響を与えすぎているか（Does... have too much influence?）」
という現状の度合いを問う形が来たため、戸惑った人が多くいらっしゃったようです。
混乱する気持ちはよくわかります。
ですが、疑問文の形が変わっても、結局は【光（プラス）】と【影（マイナス）】の対立構造を書くのは全く同じです。
具体的には下記のような導入と結びで書くと良いと思います：
✍️ YES（影響を与えすぎ）で書く場合
導入: I agree that advertising has too much influence on people's spending habits.
結び: Therefore, advertising controls people's choices too much.
✍️ NO（影響は与えすぎではない）で書く場合
導入: I do not believe that advertising has too much influence on how people spend money.
結び: Therefore, advertising plays a positive role in people's economic decisions.
今回、Does...から始まる質問で
「変化球を投げられた」
と感じた方もいらっしゃると思います。
そういう方は、ぜひ次のような問い方にも慣れておくようにしてください。
Topic : Is enough being done to promote renewable energy in modern society?
（現代社会において、再生可能エネルギーを普及させるための十分な取り組みが行われているか？）
POINTS:

Technology
この形式の一番の罠は、I agree / I disagree が使いにくい点です。
そのため、「Yes（十分だ＝肯定派）」か「No（不十分だ＝批判派）」かでスタンスを固定するよう指導するのが鉄則です。
YES（十分だ＝現状を肯定）
「国も企業も、すでに法律や技術でたくさん対策をしている」
I do not believe that enough is being done to [トピックの動詞以降].
（〜のために十分な対策が取られているとは思いません。）
例：I do not believe that enough is being done to promote renewable energy...
NO（不十分だ＝現状を批判・まだ問題がある）
「法律や人々の意識が追いついておらず、まだ課題だらけだ」
I believe that enough is being done to [トピックの動詞以降].
（〜のために十分な対策が取られていると思います。）
今回の英検で、should・・・以外の質問が来る可能性が証明されました。是非、さまざまな質問形式に対応できるように練習してみてください。
