【Model Narration】

One day, residents of a small coastal town attended a meeting about natural disasters. A community leader explained the risks of earthquakes, tsunamis, and heavy rain, and encouraged everyone to be prepared. One resident commented that they should be ready for emergencies.

A few weeks later, the town began improving its disaster-prevention system. Workers installed evacuation route signs and tsunami warning boards, while volunteers helped distribute information to local residents.

Six months later, the community held a large evacuation drill. Residents of all ages participated and practiced moving safely to designated shelters. The event helped people learn what to do in an emergency.

A year later, a tsunami warning was issued after a strong earthquake. Thanks to the training and preparation, residents remained calm and quickly evacuated to higher ground. Looking at the orderly evacuation, one man remarked that the training had paid off.

Q3 Do you think communities have become less connected than they were in the past?

A3 Yes, I do. Nowadays, many people are busy with work and spend less time with their neighbors. However, strong local communities are very important during emergencies because people can help one another.

Q4 Do you think technology has made people's lives more comfortable?

A4 Yes, I do. Technology has made many daily tasks easier and faster. For example, people can shop online, communicate instantly, and work from home. As a result, they have more convenience and can save both time and energy.
