Indeed, gender disparity in Japan is huge.
And I doubt if there has been any significant improvement since feudal era, the time Japan was under the reign of Shogunate.

It seems that global movement of #MeToo tsunami finally reached out to this island.
I do hope many women this time will stand up and fight against such a long-lasted mistreatment and abuse.
That being said, please don't rush to the conclusion that all Japanese guys are either arrogant or pervert.
Most of us still abide with so-called samurai spirit - being kind, lenient, benevolent and aboveboard.
Yes, we surely do, don't we?
