Visiting Onomichi

If you are a tourist and planning to visit western Japan, I would suggest you consider Onomichi as one of your destinations.

Onomichi is a quaint small town straggling a hillside, looking down a breathtaking scenery of Seto Inland Sea and its archipelago.

If you are a cyclist or an outdoor person, Shimanami Kaido cycling route will never fail your expectations.

And even you are not so much into cycling, you can still spend relaxed time walking in the town which contains full of amazement and joy.

How to get to Onomichi?

From Hiroshima International Airport (HIJ), it takes about 30-40 minutes by car to JR Onomichi station.

Unfortunately, there is no direct limousine bus service from HIJ to Onomichi station and thus you need to change buses at Takasaka bus station.

If you are coming from Tokyo, Osaka or Kyushu, you may take Shinkansen (bullet train) and alight at Shin-Onomichi shinkansen station, from where you may easily access to the downtown area either by bus or cab.

Need advice?

Onomichi is such a small town that it will not take more than a few hours for you to walk from one end to the other so long as you abide in the downtown area along "Hon-Dori" or the main shopping street.

However, if you are planning to explore outskirts of the town during your sojourn, you might need a local intel who knows his/her way around.

I am here to provide you with some pro bono assistance as a local resident of Onomichi by answering your queries relevant to Onomichi city.

Just drop a message through below form and I will reply to you accordingly.
